Wests Motorhome Hire UK - Terms and Conditions

22nd February 2021 Update

We are taking motorhome hire booking for rental periods commencing from the 12th April 2021 on-wards for travel in mainland UK.  This is in line with the Governments announcement on the 22nd February 2021 that  "Step 2, no earlier than 12 April: Self-contained accommodation with only one house hold can also reopen, but no earlier than the 12th April."

The Government have stated that there will be a minimum of five weeks between each "Step" being eased, four weeks for the data to reflect changes in restrictions; followed by seven days’ notice of the restrictions to be eased. We will review these dates in line with the Governments announcements, rules and restrictions.

COVID Terms and Conditions Of Bookings and Cancellation

All motorhome rentals between 23rd February 2021 and 11th April 2021 have been postponed or issued a credit note due to the Governments full lockdown restrictions due to Covid, no motorhomes are allowed out 'on hire' during these dates.  We will review these dates in line with the Governments announcements.

The below terms and conditions are in addition to our standard terms and conditions due to Covid-19.

We have amended the cancellation terms and conditions for any bookings and motorhome rentals between 23rd February 2021 and 11th April 2021.  West SM Motors t/a Wests Motorhome Hire UK

Booking Deposit: 

To book a motorhome 6 weeks or more before collection we will require a £500.00 non refundable, non transferable booking deposit plus a £10.00 admin booking fee.

If you are booking within 6 weeks of your collection date, then the full rental balance plus the £10.00 will be required to book a motorhome. This amount would be classed as the non refundable, non transferable booking deposit.

Cancellation/Transferring Dates:

The following C1 terms and conditions of cancellation apply only to motorhome rentals that are due to be collected during Covid-19 period between 23rd February 2021 and 11th April 2021.  Motorhome rentals outside these dates will be bound to our  C2 standard terms and conditions  including our cancellation policy apply.

'C1' Terms and Conditions Should we still be in full lockdown or our local town (Rainham, Essex only) lock down, where the motorhome is not allowed to leave West SM Motors premises:  Should you wish to change your motorhome rental to a later date within 2 years of the original booking, we are offering you the opportunity to do so free of our usual £25.00 administration charge or a credit note for the amount paid to West SM Motors less the £10.00 booking fee will be issue to the hirer (the hirer that is the person named as the main driver on the request to book a motorhome form) this will allow the hirer time to re-book at a later date within the 2 years from the issued of the credit note.  We do not give refunds. All bookings and change of rental date is subject to availability and our terms and conditions etc.

'C2' Terms and Conditions  Should the lockdown be relaxed/eased where the motorhome is allowed out on hire from West SM Motors premises; should you cancel your motorhome booking for any reason, fail to take the vehicle for any reason including but not limited to Covid, illness, injury, no show, travel restrictions, reason you are renting the vehicle is cancelled or postponed and you cancel or don't want to rent the motorhome because of this, No Refund or credit note will be given.  West SM Motors do not transfer payment from one booking/dates to another.  Please make sure you take out an additional insurance so that you can claim back any losses you and/or your group incur. Failure to do so is at your own risk and loss.

Travel/Holiday Insurance/Additional Insurance Protection

We strongly advise our hirer's to take out an insurance, but even more so as during these uncertain and extraordinary times, please ensure you take out an insurance or any other necessary insurance that also covers and protects you and your group, please make sure your insurance also covers cancellation, postponement and anything Covid related for, before, during and after your motorhome rental.  Failure to do so is at your own risk and loss.  We do not sell this insurance cover. 

Can I Get a Refund If I Cancel Due To Covid or If My Event or Reason For Hire Is Cancelled/Postponed?

Please refrain from booking a motorhome until we are back to normal with no or possible future lockdown or travel/ restrictions as we do not give refunds or transfer payment from one booking/dates to another. 

West SM Motors will only transfer payment from one booking/dates to another if your rental period falls under the above 'C1' Terms and Conditions only.
